Ear-piercing
This is a quick, safe, and hygienic way of piercing ears.
The pre-packed sterilised earrings are made by Caflon™ which are approved by the British Health Authority. The studs are non-allergenic, sterilised and blister packed for complete safety.
They are available in gold or silver plated with a variety of designs to choose from.
Please note that children must be over six years old, and all after care is provided.
Hopi earcandles
The earcandles have a purely physical function. A light suction action
(chimney effect) and movement of the flame creates a vibration of air in the
earcandle, generating a massage-like effect on the eardrum.
This induces a pleasant feeling of warmth and a balance of pressure in the
ears, forehead and sinuses. This gentle treatment is particularly relaxing,
helping to extract any inner-ear wax build up. The effect of this soothing
action remedies earache and headache, ear noise, stress, and nervousness.
These benefits have been well known through 19 years of experience, and
confirmed by thousands of doctors worldwide.
The ingredients of Hopi Ear Candles are:
- 100% Pure Beeswax,
- Honey Extracts,
- Sage - a herb that has anti-inflammatory and astringent properties,
- St. John's Wort,
- Chamomile,
- Beta-carotene (pre-cursor to Vitamin A that fights infections and improves
the immune system).
The Hopi earcandle
procedure involves the client lying on their side. This position is so that
the first ear is uppermost and easily accessible. The client may also be
covered with a blanket, if required, for warmth and comfort. Each ear will
be treated in turn. After each ear has been treated the client will lie on
their back whilst a face massage is performed, to help stimulate the
absorption of the herbs from the candles into the tissues of the sinuses and
face.
Some common questions about ear treatments:
Is the ear-piercing procedure painful ?
Ear piercing varies between clients. The procedure is very quick by the use of an earring gun, which instantaneously pierces the ear and inserts the Caflon™ earring. Some report no pain at all, whereas others report a sharp pain as the Caflon™ earring is inserted, but the pain very quickly subsides.
How long do the ear treatment procedures take ?
Including the consultation, and choosing of the stud design, to having the ear pierced, the procedure should be completed within 20 minutes. However, the actual piercing of the ear is instantaneous.
Ear candling treatments will take approximately 45 minutes. However, like all treatments at beauty@home, the times are only approximate, and will last until the client feels satisfied with the results.
Where has the ear candling process come from ?
This ancient remedy was used by the Egyptians, Chinese, Greeks and the Hopi Indians of North America and is now widely used in many countries throughout the modern world. The Hopi Indians of North America have long understood the problems associated with wax build-up in the ears and developed a soft wax tube that they inserted in each ear in turn.
Who is ear candling suitable for ?
Ear candling is gentle and non-evasive and is suitable for children and adults. If you are suffering from an ear infection, or suspected ear infection, then please seek medical advice first from your doctor.
